Weddings by Divalicious Designs - Portland, OR & Surrounding Areas

If you don’t read any of this other stuff, at least read this…
I truly value the love that two people share when they decide to commit themselves to one another for life.  It’s a big deal!  If you hire me to coordinate your wedding know that I will do what it takes to make everything happen the way you want.  I have this saying that goes – “You focus on being the bride, & let me be the “zilla”” – this is because I believe that as a bride (or groom) you shouldn’t be bothered with the details you have hired others to take care of, you should be focused on yourself & your partner & sharing your day with those you love (not to mention looking fabulous).  I will always be honest & flexible with you & I will never take on a job that I can’t handle or be unfair in our dealings with each other.

What are your benefits of choosing me...
·         I have experience in graphic design & can custom create just about anything…& if I don’t know how I consider it my mission to figure it out!
·         I have a keen eye for quality & detail...I will not allow anything that looks cheesy or cheap (unless that’s what you want J )
·         I can communicate effectively & I will always communicate any issues that arise or pricing changes immediately & give you options for dealing with those
·         I take detailed direction well and when push comes to shove I can delegate & make decisions that need to be made
·         I am trustworthy & will not share things you share with me or make changes to contracts (or anything else for that matter!) without discussing it with you first
·         I know a lot of people in the wedding industry if you need assistance choosing other providers
·         I will always act & dress in a professional manner at your wedding

Packages you can choose & customize to suit your needs...

FAQ
Q: What if none of your packages correspond with what I need?
A: I’m flexible…I can do as much or as little as you’d like & can come up with a custom quote based on what you tell me.

Q: What if I don’t have very many guests or I have over 150 guests?
A: I will work with you to either lower the cost a bit or budget what you can for more guests.

Q: What happens if the items I want cause me to go over budget?
A: I will always get samples of items & make sure they are within the budget.  If they are not, I will discuss the extra cost with you & provide options before making any decisions.  Any changes made before the wedding will require signed approval from you & I will provide you with copies in the form of a modified contract.

Q: Does “divalicious” mean you’re going to be a total bitch to people?
A: No.  It means that I know how things should be & I make sure people know it, so your wedding goes the way you want.  I’m very particular about things, which some people call being a “diva” but I call it class J

Q: When do I pay you?
A: A 50% deposit is required to book me & for me to begin work.  I will not accept any money or consider myself booked for the date until the contract is signed.  The remaining balance can be made in payments or a lump-sum as long as 100% payment is received at least 1 week prior to the event.  I will provide a detailed contract, invoice, & receipts for your records.

Q: Do you have a staff that helps you?
A: I do not have a permanent staff, but will bring help with me depending on what’s required.  Those who come with me are paid by me & that will not be your responsibility.

Q: What if I cancel my wedding unexpectedly after I’ve paid you?
A: Depending on how much progress has been made in the planning I will try to refund some of your money.  The tricky part about refunds is that some items cannot be returned (custom, edible, etc.) so it’s not always possible to get your money back.  I am flexible & creative with these situations so I will do what I can to get you some money back.  If you wanted day-of coordination & I’ve done nothing, you’ll receive a 75% refund.

Q: What if my wedding does not go as I wanted (you didn’t do what I thought you would)?
A: I will always communicate with you as much as possible beforehand to ensure I understand your expectations & you understand what I’m capable of.  If you are not satisfied, please feel free to talk to me about it & please provide specific examples.  If I have neglected to do something we agreed I would (which will be in the contract) I will determine what I think is a fair resolution & we can work it out.

Q: Do you offer any discounts?
A: I provide discounts in exchange for permission to use images from your wedding as advertisement of my services.  The discounted amount depends on what services you will be purchasing.  I also give a discount if you refer a friend who books with me or if you pay 100% immediately upon booking.  Amounts will always vary on an individual basis.

About me…
From a young age I’ve always had a fascination with the way décor can completely transform a space & also convey feelings, personality, values, & whole bunch of other stuff.  It’s a form of communication that is sometimes overlooked, but so important!  I am constantly decorating & redecorating my home…whether it’s for the holidays or to alter the feeling I get from the space.  This gives you a little insight into who I am & how I feel about the work that I do…I love it & I choose to do it happily!

My background…
I worked in the professional photography industry for 5 years & during this time I saw countless weddings & was able to re-experience the day through photographs & digital album design.  I think the most important investment you can make on your wedding day is in professional photography & secondly in coordination/décor so that photos & memories of your day reflect your own personal style.

I have a small business that I sell my décor creations through called Funkytown Designs & have been selling through Etsy & bazaar-type venues for the last 3+ years.  I decided to start selling things I make since there wasn’t enough room to display them all in my own home & I just love to create.  What I create depends on the items I have access to & my mood at the time.  I like all styles…from vintage-shabby to crazy-colorful to dark & dismal.

I have recently graduated from Portland State University with a BS in Psychology.  I’m very interested in the way our minds process things, personality, & interaction.  I’m a very conscientious person when it comes to my own interactions with others & how people treat each other.  I am very much a “people person”  & enjoy taking the time to listen to other people’s experiences.  My goal is to someday become a licensed counselor.

This last Summer (2013) I have assisted in coordination of 3 weddings, beginning with the wedding of my friend who actually lives in San Francisco but was getting married Portland.  The experience of planning her wedding with her is one of the best things I’ve ever done!  The best part about it was receiving a card from her afterwards telling me that I made all her dreams reality & that her wedding turned out even better than she anticipated.  She said, “people gave me gifts that I will probably forget, but I will always have photos of my day & everything looking just the way I wanted it”.  I had so much fun planning her wedding I decided to start offering my services to others & here I am!
